Jeff joined NEA in 2018 as a Venture Partner on both the technology and healthcare investing teams. Jeff served as chairman and CEO of GE for 16 years where he revamped the company’s strategy, global footprint, workforce and culture, transforming it into a simpler, stronger, and more focused digital industrial company. During his tenure, he led several innovative transformations which doubled industrial earnings doubled, reshaped the portfolio, re-established market leadership, grew a strong share position in essential industries, and quadrupled emerging market revenue. Prior to being appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2000, Jeff held several global leadership roles at GE in the Plastics, Appliances, and Healthcare businesses and became an Officer of the company in 1989. He has been named one of the "World's Best CEOs" three times by Barron's, and while he was CEO, GE was named "America's Most Admired Company" by Fortune magazine and one of "The World's Most Respected Companies" in polls by Barron's and the Financial Times. He has received 15 honorary degrees and numerous awards for business leadership. Jeff earned a B.A. degree in applied mathematics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. He currently serves on the board for NEA portfolio companies Collective Health, Desktop Metal, and Radiology Partners, is chairman of athenahealth, and is a member of The American Academy of Arts & Sciences. He and his wife have one daughter.

Dr. Colin Parris is currently the Vice President, Software Research at the GE Global Research Center in Niskayuna, NY and is an Officer of the General Electric Company. In his present role, Dr. Parris oversees the development and application of industrial analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and software systems research broadly across the General Electric Company. This portfolio includes GE’s industry leading Digital Twin Initiative, which he created and leads for the company. Along with his present role, Dr. Parris also is a member of the Board of Directors of APTIV. Dr. Parris joined GE in 2014. Previously, he worked at IBM from 1994 to 2014 – 16 years as an IBM executive in roles that spanned research, software development, technology management, and P&L management. He was Vice President, System Research at the IBM T J Watson Research Division; Vice President, Software Development, of IBM’s largest system software development lab (6,000+ developers worldwide); Vice President of Corporate Technology; and the Vice President and General Manager of the IBM Power Systems where he was responsible for IBM’s $5 B+ P&L Unix System and Software business). Colin received a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley, a Master’s in Management from Stanford University (as a Sloan Fellow), and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Howard University (B.S.E.E.).

James (Jim) Heppelmann is the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of PTC, responsible for driving the company’s global business strategy and operations. During Mr. Heppelmann’s leadership tenure, PTC has assembled the industry’s leading industrial innovation platform and field-proven solutions and services that enable companies to design, manufacture, operate, and service things for a smart, connected world. He also serves on PTC’s Board of Directors. Mr. Heppelmann has emerged as a driver and thought leader in industrial innovation. Together with Harvard Professor Michael E. Porter, he has co-authored three highly influential articles regarding the transformational impact of the Internet of Things (IoT) on business, including the November 2014 Harvard Business Review cover story “How Smart, Connected Products are Transforming Competition,” and the companion “How Smart, Connected Products are Transforming Companies” published in the October 2015 Harvard Business Review. Their third Harvard Business Review collaboration, published in November 2017, “A Manager's Guide to Augmented Reality,” is a collection of articles that define why every organization needs an Augmented Realty (AR) strategy. Mr. Heppelmann was named one of “7 IoT Leaders to Watch in 2017” by Hewlett Packard Enterprise and has previously been recognized as “IOT CEO of the Year” by PostScapes, “Technology CEO of the Year” by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council, and received the “CAD Society Leadership Award” for his work with the Internet of Things. A dynamic speaker, Mr. Heppelmann has been featured as a keynote presenter at the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) events on topics such as “How Smart, Connected Products Are Redefining Manufacturing” and was a featured speaker on “the role of digitization in America's advanced industries” at the Brookings Institution. He has been published and quoted in numerous global business and trade media, including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Bloomberg Businessweek. Mr. Heppelmann is a member of the board of directors at SENSATA, a world leader in automotive and industrial sensors and controls, and was recently elected to the MassTLC (Massachusetts Technology Leadership council) Board of Trustees. He also serves as a member of the Dean’s advisory board at the University of Minnesota College of Science & Engineering, is an executive advisory board member of the national FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and has been recognized as one of the “Top 100 CEO Leaders in STEM” by the STEMconnector organization.

Tom Gentile was named president and chief executive officer of Spirit AeroSystems in August 2016 after joining the company in April 2016 as chief operating officer. Prior to Spirit, he served as president and chief operating officer of GE Capital, overseeing global operations, IT and capital planning. Before this role, Gentile was president and CEO of GE Healthcare Systems, a $14 billion diagnostic imaging business. He also served as president and CEO of GE Aviation Services, a $7 billion global enterprise providing maintenance, repair, and overhaul as well as spare parts to GE Aviation’s global fleet of jet engines for commercial airlines. Gentile began his career at GE in 1998, holding a succession of leadership roles across GE Capital in the U.S., France and Australia. He has held numerous other leadership and strategy roles with McKinsey and Company, U.S. broadcaster CBS and General Motors. In addition, Gentile was previously chairman and continues to serve on the board of InSightec, a global leader in non-invasive image guided therapy. An active community member, Gentile serves on the executive committee of the Aerospace Industries Association and the governing boards of the Greater Wichita Partnership and Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters. Gentile is a champion of Spirit’s Good Neighbor Fund employee giving program and also serves as a Trustee of the ALS Finding a Cure organization. He previously served on the Greater Milwaukee Committee, as well as on the boards of the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County, Connecticut. Gentile earned his bachelor’s degree in economics magna cum laude and an MBA from Harvard University, and studied international relations at the London School of Economics. Gentile was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He and his wife, Julie, have three children.

Kipp Bradford is an engineering researcher working at the boundaries of emerging technology and industries. Most recently, he was a senior Research Scientist at the MIT Media Lab, hired as a result of the “Professor of Other” faculty search for an interdisciplinary scientist. His research merges biology, ecology, and thermodynamics to develop new ways to manage climates at every scale—from personal thermal comfort up to global weather systems.

Amar is a senior business leader with 30+ years of experience driving business and technology transformation. Prior to joining Bright Machines in 2018, he was at Autodesk, where he drove the transformation of the design software leader’s product portfolio from on-premise to SaaS and its business model from one based on perpetual licenses to subscription. He led Autodesk into the cloud and enabled the company’s 12 million customers to access their designs on nearly any device. As Autodesk’s co-CEO and chief product officer, Amar oversaw the company’s entire software portfolio, including its innovative manufacturing and construction applications. In addition to sitting on Bright Machine’s board, Amar also sits on the board of eSilicon Corporation and advises early stage venture companies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Bombay University and a master’s in mechanical engineering from State University New York, and he has completed the executive managerial program at Stanford University.

Enno de Boer is a partner at McKinsey and is Global Head of Manufacturing. He leads the firm’s strategic partnership with the World Economic Forum on the future of manufacturing, including the publication of several collaborative whitepapers identifying the world’s leading manufacturers and their adoption of digital manufacturing technologies. Enno serves clients on digital manufacturing strategies and transformation across many industries. His work at McKinsey also includes leading the firm’s global network of Digital Capability Centers and Model Factories—innovative experiential learning spaces that train more than 15,000 executives each year in customized learning course. Enno has a passion for disruptive business models and start-ups, with a track record for innovation, business building, large scale transformations, scaling businesses, and value enhancing strategies. His industry expertise spans across pharmaceutical, medical devices, automotive, advanced electronics, private equity, food and beverage, and FMCG.

Natan Linder is co-founder and CEO of manufacturing technology company, Tulip, and co-founder and chairman of Formlabs, the pioneer and industry leader in professional desktop 3D printing. Drawing from over 15 years of experience and accomplished careers at companies like Samsung, Sun Microsystems, and Rethink Robotics, Linder holds a depth of expertise in computer science, product design, and entrepreneurship. Prior to starting Tulip and Formlabs, Linder was co-founder and general manager of Samsung Electronic’s R&D Center in Israel, spearheading the group’s innovation efforts in mobile and shipping multiple products to the global market. He’s served as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Jerusalem Venture Partners, the leading Israeli venture capital firm. Linder holds a PhD from MIT Media Lab’s Fluid Interfaces Group and a S.M. in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT. Linder’s work aims to fuse design and engineering to create novel human experiences.

Jon is a Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Onshape. He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from MIT where he majored in Mechanical Engineering, and has worked in CAD for over 35 years. Jon was previously a Founder and CEO of SOLIDWORKS, a group executive at Dassault Systemes, Director of Engineering at Computervision, Manager at the MIT CADLab, a player and instructor on the MIT Blackjack team, and a professional magician. He serves on the Engineering Advisory Board at Boston University and as an advisor to Magic Leap, Inc. and MarkForged, Inc.

Vik Vedantham is a Senior Manager in Business Strategy and Marketing at Autodesk, responsible for directing the business and go-to-market strategy for various design and manufacturing solutions in Autodesk’s Fusion 360 platform. Vik brings over 18 years of experience in design & manufacturing technology space, driving product vision and strategy, and managing sales, services and consulting teams. Throughout his career, he has helped numerous customers innovate faster and gain a competitive advantage by guiding their adoption of cutting-edge and disruptive design, simulation and advanced manufacturing technologies for product development.

Brian Garret is the co-founder and Chief Product of 3D Hubs, the leading global platform for manufacturing. Founded in 2013, 3D Hubs produced 2,500,000+ parts, has raised over $30M in funding and is used by 20% of Fortune-100 companies. Brian has been involved in 3D Printing since 2003. He graduated from Eindhoven University of Technology on mass-customization through additive manufacturing in 2009. From 2009 to 2013 he worked at 3D printing startup FOC, the first company to commercialise 3D printed products. FOC was later acquired by 3D Systems as its products entered Apple stores and high-end retailers.

Terry Wohlers is principal consultant and president of Wohlers Associates, Inc., an independent consulting firm he founded 32 years ago. Through Wohlers Associates, he has provided consulting assistance to more than 267 organizations in 26 countries, as well as to 180+ companies in the investment community. He has authored 420 books, articles, and technical papers and has given 155 keynote presentations on six continents. Wohlers served as a featured speaker in events held at the White House in 2012 and 2014. He has appeared on many television news programs, including Bloomberg TV, CNBC, CNN, Fox Business, MSNBC, NPR, and Australia’s Sky News. Wohlers is a principal author of the Wohlers Report, the undisputed industry-leading report on additive manufacturing and 3D printing worldwide for 24 consecutive years.

Lalit is a Vice President in Goldman’s technology investment banking team based in San Francisco. Lalit joined Goldman Sachs in 2011 in Firmwide Strategy, working with senior leaders to evaluate new business initiatives, organic build plans and acquisition opportunities. He then spent a year as the Chief of Staff to Goldman’s President & COO, before joining the technology banking team in 2014. He advises public and private companies across the industrial technology, internet, software and mobility landscape on private placements, initial public offerings, and M&A. Lalit earned a B.A. in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University.

Dave is co-founder & CEO of Fictiv, a virtual contract manufacturing platform transforming how teams design, develop, and deliver the next generation of hardware products. To date, Fictiv has raised $58M in through Series C from G2VP, Sinovation, Bill Gates, Intel and Accel. He’s an innovative entrepreneur featured on TechCrunch, Inc., and named on Forbes' 30 Under 30 list. Prior to Fictiv, Dave was the first hire at Ford’s Silicon Valley Lab. Nate is the Plant Manager of the Metal Injection Molding and Additive Manufacturing facility at Alpha Precision Group. He holds a Masters degree from the University of Notre Dame in Engineering and Entrepreneurship. Prior to working at APG Nate Co-Founded InVivo Concepts, which developed and manufactured equipment for enhanced imaging during biomedical research. He brought this startup experience to APG where an initial “Green Field” MIM operation was started and later executed an acquisition to fuel 100% year over year growth.

Troy Jensen is a managing director and senior research analyst at Piper Jaffray, specializing in high growth technology stocks. Mr. Jensen's coverage universe includes 3D printing, robotics and optical technologies. Mr. Jensen has been publishing research on the 3D printing space for 15 years and currently follows 3D Systems, Materialise, Proto Labs, Stratasys, Voxeljet and keeps close tabs on most of the private companies in this space. Prior to joining Piper Jaffray in 2005, Jensen spent seven years in equity research at ThinkEquity Partners and RBC Capital Markets. Jeff McAlvay is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Tempo Automation. Prior to his role at Tempo, Jeff served in several leadership development roles, including product manager and freight shipping manager, at McMaster-Carr. Jeff received a BA in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania.

Philip is Vice President of Hardware Engineering for Silverside Detectors which fuses cutting-edge physics and cost-effective manufacturing to advance solutions for nuclear security. Prior to joining Silverside, Philip managed development of novel forward-osmosis water filtration technology for Oasys Water, and led product design and global sourcing efforts at Jetboil, Inc., maker of high-efficiency camping stoves and related consumer products. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dartmouth College.

Michelle Bockman is the GM and Global Head of Automotive and High Value Applications, 3D Printing and Digital Manufacturing, at HP Inc. In this role, she splits her time between creating a global automotive business through key customer engagements and developing the end-to-end value-added applications and business models anchored around 3D Printing. Prior to this role, she was Global Head of 3D Printing Commercial Development & Expansion at HP Inc. She focused on growing the market through customer engagements, global alliances, and new applications ensuring the best customer experience and outcomes. Her main focus has been and currently is transforming industrial companies from analog to digital providing new and different business models that drive growth and differentiation. Before joining HP, Michelle had a long career at several GE businesses. She held multiple executive leadership roles spanning from Service, Supply Chain, Sales, and Product Development at GE Healthcare and Industrial Solutions as well as scaling a start-up business at GE Digital. During her many years of being involved in the GE Women’s Network, Michelle started and led two Women’s Network hubs in St. Louis, Missouri and Washington, DC. Also, she co-led GE Girls executive corporate program team focusing on girls in STEM. Prior to joining GE, Michelle held various positions in engineering, supply chain, service, sales, and quality at Dana Corporation (Tier 1 automotive) and Nikon Inc. (biomedical & industrial metrology). Michelle holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the Missouri University of Science & Technology and is based in Palo Alto, California.

Matthew S. Kressy, founding director of the MIT Integrated Design & Management (IDM) master’s degree program, is an expert i product design and development. As an entrepreneur and founder of Designturn, he has designed, invented, engineered, and manufactured products for startups, Fortune 500 companies, and everything in between. Kressy believes in interdisciplinary, design-driven product development derived from deep user research, creative concept generation, and rapid prototype iteration. He is passionate about teaching this approach to the design process. Since 1999, Kressy has co-taught collaborative courses in product design and development at top design and business schools including the MIT Sloan School of Management, the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and Harvard Business School. As IDM director, Kressy leads curriculum development and co-teaches the track’s primary and required courses. He holds a BFA in industrial design from RISD.

Pete Blair is the Vice President of Marketing at Berkshire Grey where he is responsible for branding, messaging, demand generation and overall marketing execution and strategy. Pete brings years of hands-on supply chain experience to his marketing roles including: retail logistics management, supply chain consulting and software development for CPG and retail enterprises. Prior to Berkshire Grey, Pete was the Vice President of Marketing for Applause software and Head of Marketing for Kiva Systems; now Amazon Robotics. Pete started his career in logistics operations at The Home Depot, travelled the globe as an IBM management consultant, and contributed to the success of multiple technology startups over his 25-year career. Pete is an active speaker at supply chain and innovation conferences, and he has a bachelor’s degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University.

Ryan Martin, Principal Analyst at ABI Research, covers new and emerging transformative technologies, including augmented reality (AR), analytics, and the Internet of Things (IoT). He currently leads the firm’s Smart Manufacturing and Enterprise IoT research. Prior to joining ABI Research, Ryan spent the past several years working at technology market research firms, including Yankee Group and, most recently, 451 Research. Before his time as a market research analyst, Ryan served as a consultant at Mobile Future Institute, a U.S.-based think tank focused on business strategies and marketing tactics for the mobile ecosystem. Additionally, he held advisory, consultative, and managerial positions at a number of early- to late-stage startups. Ryan is frequently quoted and published in a variety of industry and business media, including BBC, CIO, ComputerWorld, CyberTrend, E-Commerce Times, FastCompany, International Business Times, LA Times, PCWorld, TechNewsWorld, TechRepublic, Time Magazine, VentureBeat, Forbes and WIRED. He is also a regular speaker at client and industry events, and a judge for major awards programs such as the CES Innovation Awards and the GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards. Ryan holds degrees in economics and political science, with an additional concentration in global studies, from the University of Vermont and an M.B.A. from the University of New Hampshire.

Dan Shapiro is the CEO and cofounder of Glowforge, the iconic 3D laser printer. Starting with the biggest 30-day crowdfunding campaign on record, designers have now used their Glowforge printers to create millions of products like wallets, lamps, and furniture. Dan is also the author of Hot Seat: The Startup CEO Guidebook, published by O'Reilly. Before founding Glowforge, Dan launched the bestselling boardgame in Kickstarter history, Robot Turtles, a game that teaches programming fundamentals to preschoolers. Before his detour as a boardgame designer, Dan served as CEO of Google Comparison, Inc, a Google subsidiary. Shapiro landed at Google when they bought his previous company, comparison shopping website Sparkbuy. Before Sparkbuy, Shapiro was founder and CEO of Photobucket Inc. (formerly Ontela). Dan's been featured on NPR, the Wall Street Journal, and on the front page of the New York Times. His game, Robot Turtles, as been sold everywhere from Target to MoMA. He has been awarded a dozen US patents, and received his B.S. in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College.
